In a town hall meeting in Bloomsburg, Pa. this week, Rep. Paul Kanjorski, a 12-term congressman, said that shortly before Congress was scheduled to vote on authorizing military force against Iraq, top officials of the CIA showed select members of Congress three photographs it alleged were Iraqi Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), better known as drones. Kanjorski said he was told that the drones were capable of carrying nuclear, biological, or chemical agents, and could strike 1,000 miles inland of east coast or west coast cities.

Kanjorski said he and four or five other congressmen in the room were told UAVs could be on freighters headed to the U.S. Both secretary of state Condoleezza Rice and President Bush wandered into and out of the briefing room, Kanjorski said.

Kanjorski said it was the second time he was called to the White House for a briefing. He had opposed giving the President the powers to go to war, and said that he hadn't changed his mind after a first meeting. Until he saw the pictures, Kanjorski said, "I hadn't thought that Iraq was a threat." That second meeting changed everything. After he left that meeting, said Kanjorski, he was willing to give the President the authorization he wanted since the drones "represented an imminent danger."

Kanjorski said he went to see Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), a retired Marine colonel. Murtha, said Kanjorski, "turned white" when told about the drones; Murtha, a former intelligence officer, believed that such information was classified.

Several years later, Kanjorski said he learned that the pictures were "a god-damned lie," apparently taken by CIA photographers in the desert in the southwest of the U.S. The drone story itself had already been disproved, although not many major media carried that story.

Dr Jim Swire, whose daughter Flora died in the tragedy, said: "It is shocking to me that if after 19 years of trying to get to the truth about who murdered my daughter, national security is being used as an excuse."

What is the word or term for a situation where the fox is guarding he hen house?

Organized Crime?

WASHINGTON, Oct. 9 — The Supreme Court today turned down the chance to elaborate for the first time in more than 50 years on the “state secrets privilege” by refusing to hear an appeal filed on behalf of Khaled el-Masri, who claims he was abducted and tortured by United States agents while imprisoned in Afghanistan.

Former president Jimmy Carter isn't just suspicious that the US is using torture to extract intelligence from detainees -- he's absolutely convinced.

Now he writes: "There was one problem. It was not true." Frustratingly the book, What Happened, is not due out until next April. No details have been released on what McClellan will reveal of who knew what when as the White House smear campaign against Plame unfolded. The response from the White House yesterday was predictable. McClellan's latest poker-faced replacement, Dana Perino told reporters: "The president has not and would not ask his spokespeople to pass on false information." No?

Falsehood enforcers

Even the most restrictive and security conscious of persons can be exploited. Through the targeting and information reconnaissance phase, a person's hometown and high school will be revealed. An adversary can create a classmates.com account at the same high school and year and find out people you went to high school with that do not have Facebook accounts, then create the account and send a friend request.
Under the mutual friend decision, which is where most people can be exploited, an adversary can look at a targets friend list if it is exposed and find a targets most socially promiscuous friends, the ones that have over 300-500 friends, friend them to develop mutual friends before sending a friend request to the target. To that end friend's accounts can be compromised and used to post malicious material to a targets wall. When choosing to participate in social media an individual is only as protected as his/her weakest friend.

Lam Elisa / Elisa Lam

COPY AND PASTED below

A few days ago I posted about the strange coincidence regarding the name of the young girl who was killed and found in a hotel water tank: Elisa Lam.
(Here: Elisa Lam Identified By Body Markings On)
To refresh, 6 reports around the world have been made public about deaths due to this "SARS-like" respiratory illness. It's been plaguing South Africa for some time, and they've also been testing the hybrid effects of HIV and this rare TB outbreak.
Why is this relevant?
LAM ELISA / ELISA LAM is a type of drug test they have been using. (Likewise, China and the UK have used this method to test for and combat this string of non-treatable, drug-resistant tuberculosis.) More basically, ELISA LAM tests are designed to test liquid, historically aquaculture: to test water for disease, mycobacteria.
Let's revisit the narrative surrounding Hotel Cecil. It was not of sex offenders, drug use, traveling alone, Skid Row or even the young girl's career ambitions (or whatever other speculations might emerge.) Nope. The media focused on the quality of water, and emphasized the grotesque circumstance of the hotel's occupants drinking the tainted water.
Naturally, that's where I started. And then....
[Taken from the Centre for Tuberculosis Research, University of British Columbia (sound familiar?), Vancouver: on Mycobacterium tuberculosis]
"However, on July 23, 2012, The Lancet published encouraging new data about a drug combination called PaMZ whcih eliminated more than 99 percent of the bacteria within two weeks in a 85-person study. The research was executed at Stellenbosch University in Cape Town and funded by The Global Alliance for TB Drug Development, a New York-based non-profit organization supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Since PaMZ doesn’t contain isoniazid or rifampicin, the two main medicines used against TB, researchers hope that it may also provide a much-needed weapon against the MDR-TB strains (Business Week, 23 July 2012)"
RE-wind. Bill Gates? What's he doing in this story? Weapon--what an interesting word choice.
Go ahead, try typing Elisa Lam into the search engine. By page 20, have you seen mention of ELISA LAM being a critical drug test for tuberculosis? Or, anything about a potential TB outbreak? (Certainly last week when I performed the search, I really had to dig.)
But today, look what I found:
LA Times: Downtown L.A. TB outbreak: LAPD urges officers to wear masks
How many results do you see about the girl who mysteriously TRAVELED alone to SKID ROW, was found in a WATER tank, and she was a student at UBC, CANADA who happened to be named Elisa Lam? Ding ding ding.
Your fabled news tale with all of the key "SEO" terms needed to completely clog and saturate any search results that could potentially draw attention to it.
Ironic, no? A real outbreak is overshadowed by what's going viral on the internet.
(I've read that it's a "Beijing" strand, too...)
And, as I stated in my prediction post, I'm still trying to understand how Oscar Pistorious from SOUTH AFRICA will nestle into the SEO value.)
Anyways friends, be advised. Stay clean, stay healthy and stay away from large media-hungry public gatherings.
